악의

뜬금없다

  - 갑작스럽고도 엉뚱하다

그 상황에 놓여있을 땐 왜 저런 얘길 하는 건지 단순히 궁금했는데,

집에 돌아와 보니 악의라는 걸 깨닫게 된다. 

우스운 얘기쯤으로 넘겼다. 

한 마디할 걸.

내 행동을 반성할 게 아니라, 네 얘기를 하고 있는 거니?라고 반문했어야 했어.

"갑자기요? 그런 적 있으셨나봐요?"

When I was in that situation, I was just curious why you said that.

At that moment, I simply wondered why you wuold say such a thing.

When I was in that situation, I was merely curious about the reason behind those words.

 

When I came home, I realized it was said with bad feelings.

When I got home, I realized there had been some malice behind it.

After comimg home, I realized that what was said carried a hint of malice.

 

I just laughed it off.

I brushed it off as a silly joke.

I dismissed it lightly, thingking it was nothing more than a trivial joke.

 

I should've said something.

I should have spoken up.

I regret not speaking up when I had the chance.

 

I should've asked "are you talking about me or yourself?"

Instead of blaming myself, I should've asked "are you real talking about me?"

Rather than turning the blame inward, I should have asked "are you actuaaly talking about me or are you revealing something about yourself?"

 

"Suddenly? Have you had that happen before?"

"all of sudden? It sounds like you've experienced that before?"

"out of nowhere? You say that as if you've been through it yourself?"
